Personally I would continue to rear face until at least two I know here starting Jan 2017 it'll be the law but if it's not a law where your at then do what you feel is best but safety wise rear facing is probably best

here in Oklahoma a child has to be rear facing for the first two years... my daughter is tall for her age and I hate making sit rear facing but she's nearly two years old so once in a while I let her sit forward... most of those times the vehicles are small...

I'm really strict on my rear facing until 2 rule because of the substantial amount of evidence that shows how safe it is compared to forward facing....even at older ages!! My son was perfectly content staying rear facing until then

here it used to be rear facing til age one but changed it to two years.

I turned mine around at 12 months and I'll do the same with my youngest. i get they have 'new evidence' but with all the new 'rules' how did any of us or our parents survive back in the day??!! lol

thank you ladies, @mrscruz0530 @desiree918 @showersoverflowers i will probably continue to rear face her for the safty of my child. she is just so tall shes seems uncomfortable but im sure she can do something with her legs to make self more comfy. @jaeparm not sure how they survived back in a day lol... but i drive far for work and i just want the safest. ice been in this little dilemma for few weeks now and yesterday i had no choice to front face her.

I have a two door car and my son rear faces fine. He's only 6 months though, but I'll definitely be rear facing him until AT LEAST 2 years. I wish I had my sister with me, she's the car seat nazi and she'd definitely be able to pull up all the evidence proving rear facing much safer. I get that "back in the day" there weren't all these "rules and regulations" but considering that they're here now and now that we know them, we can't be ignorant to the evidence that proves rear facing is much safer. It really irks me when people have their children less than a year old either forward facing or in the freaking front seat. No judgements toward anyone, because ultimately it's the parent's decision.

@babyjjsmommy, i couldnt rear face her bacuse my mom had stuff in her back seat that wouldnt of fit in her trunk. i would of not been able to put her in her car seat rear faceing her. iam keeping her rear facing her i have a 4 door car. i just wanted some opinions.

yes its very scary when people put there children in a front seat i would never advice that for any parent. my baby is in her weight range if not heavier i know her car seat says u can forward face her at 20 pounds and shes heavier shes like 22 or 23 now. that is why i was asking parents opinions about forward facing! @babyjjsmommy

Yeah, idk about all the state laws. I totally understand, that sucks about the car situation. Be glad you don't have a 2 door it's hell lmao. My kid is around 23 lbs at 6 months 🙊

See I just looked up our law for car seats and it's completely legal to forward face at 20 lbs and there's no way of turn my kid forward facing. So I guess all in all its up to you, but you're not going to get in trouble unless your law is one of those that say rear face until they're 2.

yeah i would never do that that to a six month old even if she was 20 something pounds. awee your baby is a cutie pie!! but iam keeping my daughter rear facing, iam thankful for not having a 2 door i traded mine in for a big suv when i found out i was pregnant. @babyjjsmommy

ours is pretty similar to yalls i belive i just go by what her car seat says but im honna keep her rear facing.

thank you!! yeah i only had about 9 thousand left on my old car before i traded mine in for a big car and now i have like 30,000 left on my new suv @babyjjsmommy i should have it paid off in 6 years tho but it was for the safety of my baby to get a bigger car. yeah sometimes things happen out of unexpectedly!!!!
