If it makes you feel any better my first wasn't that bad. My contractions didn't hurt that bad. I just got an epidural out of fear if it getting worse. After my epidural it was smooth sailing

I have been fine! And that was 8 years ago. Of course while recovering you have back pain but that was about it for me.

its truly not that bad. I was in labor for 27 hours and pushed for 49 minutes. I was induced and went thru 2 bags of pitocin on 30 drips per minute (the maximum they can give in a minute ) had no pain relief at all did it 100% natural and ended up needing stitches at the end because she tore me and I didn't even feel him stitching me up, (mind you I have never broken a bone, needed stitches or staples before in my life so this was my first) the contractions do hurt but if you breathe thru the contractions and have as many people as you can in the room distracting you it takes the pain away a lot more. pushing was hard and I needed an oxygen mask because I started turning purple while pushing and my contractions (at the time of pushing) were 2-3 minutes apart. you'll do great momma!!!

Labor wasn't that bad... And I did it back to back no meds. For me it was the contractions closest to pushing that sent me over the edge

being induced hurt more than i read it would. so i got the epidural even though thats not what i wanted. my mom said that if i hadn't been induced and gone into labor naturally, it wouldn't have been as bad. the pushing wasn't bad, but my baby was small. i was also really determined to get her out and in my arms, so i only pushed for an hr and a half. you'll do wonderfully!
