do any other mommies ever experience a fast heart rate? i keep experiencing what i think to be heart palpatations and its freaking me out. on monday i went to the emergency room thinking i was having a heart attack only to be told my blood pressure was high and that my heart rate was a bit abnormal and ultimately being an anxiety attack. was told to go on a diet and to exercise and thats exactly what ive started doing. but idk if its me focusing tooooo much on my heart rate that im giving myself more anxiety or its something serious and i should go to the er again 😭 i seriously cant sleep and im crying because idk what to do. is it anxiety or am i in need of medical help 😭😭😭

Anxiety.. I hate when that happens but you just have to remind yourself that it's not as bad as you're making it seem. May sound weird but sometimes"coughing" will interrupt/stop the heart palpitations.. deep breaths help as well. hope you feel better

Sometimes if I really let myself get worked up it will .. another trick I like to use is I'll feel for my pulse under my jaw/throat area and I'm able to feel that it's not the same rhythm as my heart palpitations it's more "normal" and it helps me to relax a bit

Np I know how scary it can be !! But ultimately that's up to you I've thought about seeing someone (and probably should) but I've found ways of dealing with my anxiety and panic attacks on my own.. And let me tell you that took time !! And even now I still have my moments where the things I do don't necessarily work. Seeking help and advice could be good thing I probably will one day too

This always happened to me and it was definitely anxiety. I saw a counselor for it and she explained that basically you start to focus on your heart rate and get convinced it's fast so you quit focusing on your breathing which increases your heart rate causing you to further panic and continue that cycle. Just focus on taking the deep breaths to help slow your heart and calm you down. Talking to someone really helped because they understand where your coming from and the right things to say to help you see what's actually going on. I have pretty decent control over it as far as not having anxiety attacks anymore but my brain still runs wild with stuff that shouldn't really be a concern. I'm sure it'll be something that's a constant thing to deal with but it has been easier for me. Good luck 😊 I know how tough getting a strong hold on it can be.
