So I have been taking Diclegis for nausea for several weeks now. i also have started experiencing intense cramping the passed few days. I actually had to go to the ER 2 days ago for extreme pain. I have a friend (who's mom works in a hospital) and says that she has had a handful of young girls with healthy pregnancies, taking diclegis, have problems with preterm labor. I dont know if that is the issue I am having (my cramping has come back today) but i a going to stop taking it. HAS ANYONE ELSE TAKING DICLEGIS HAD ANY ISSUES? please let me know.

I'm taking it and it has been wonderful, I'm finally able to eat and drink without throwing up but so far no problems with preterm labor

I'm almost 39 weeks and I took it at the beginning of my pregnancy. Haven't had any issues. It was wonderful. Really helped me. I took it for about 8 weeks then stopped because I was feeling so much better. Good luck.

I read the potential risks that came with the bottle and I couldn't take it. I'm a worrier so those risks didn't seem worth it to me. I wasn't having severe nausea though either.

My doctor put me on zofran as needed which I needed it a lot at the beginning and recently. I know with that you can get "stopped up" and constipated if you take it often. Try drinking more water. It might have the same effect.

@lindsey89, definitely not constipated or dehydrated. did the Zofran work for you? I was considering switching to that.

I've always taken it and never had a problem except the constipation part but seems like I have that issue naturally (I have stomach/intestinal inflammation) but even when I had flare ups with my stomach it never hurt it at all. I just know it can cause constipation because it's like slowing your digestive tract down. But I take the dissolvable ones and I have the pill form they come in 4mg which I started on and 8mg which I refill now. They have worked wonders with me and even has helped at night with the acid reflux. I also alternate and some times take it with tums and it helps immediately (the dissolvable ones). My boyfriend has take a couple when he got a stomach thing awhile ago and they work. It's worth a shot to try something else. You don't need to be in pain or put yourself at risk. Some people can take some medications and others can't tolerate them.

They put my sister on zofran while pregnant, she had preterm labour. Baby stopped growing at like 30 weeks.

I was put on Zofran and my OB said that taking it for a long period of time can cause birth defects such a cliff pallet so he switched me to Diclegis, I only took it for a short period of time but never had any problems. Hopefully you can find something that works for you.
