I clean the outside but don't go in the canal. They actually say it's not safe to clean your ears with q-tips because it can push the wax deeper or cause harm. If I think the inside needs to be clean I put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in and the wax eventually becomes soft enough to slide out on its own.

I clean my baby everyday all day and she's 1 month, I don't believe in dirt. 😂 I think it's personal preference tho, up to you. ☺️
