yep. I wouldn't have gotten into half the trouble i did in high school had I not had to sneak around and walk on eggshells with my parents. I wasn't even allowed to join after school clubs.
My mom was really strict and I was only sneaky once in a great awhile because I was really scared of her. she had eyes and ears everywhere because of her family
I definitely defied my parents more because they were so strict. My mother also invaded my privacy a lot by going through my stuff and reading my journal. I stopped writing in it for a while because of her. She had a very short temper too. I came home with dark makeup once when I was 16 and she slapped me for it. Over makeup. I have a son now but if I have a daughter, I'm going to try to be a bit more lenient and trust her.
