Seeing a mother on Facebook vent about how her daughter is having trouble speaking and how she is doing all the right things to try to get her to talk but it's not working. And every single mom is replying saying her child is delayed and how their child spoke soon and blah blah. People forget every child is different and learn at their own pace. That doesn't make them slow or delayed at all.

yes every child is different, but if the child is delayed its better to acknowledge and help the child than to ignore it because they might get over it. better safe than sorry, ya know.

@halliekay, of course it's way better to be safe then sorry. But the woman were putting her down about it and throwing in her face about how their child learned quicker. I'm going through the same exact thing and in 2 months of my daughter doesn't get better with her speech I'm putting her in speech therapy. I guess my point was that these woman weren't sympathetic cause she was stressed and worried and they made her feel so much worse

This is one of my hugest pet peeves. A mother is looking for sound advice and the one upper moms come out of the woodwork. The fact that your children were speaking isn't relevant. Give helpful advice or be on your merry way!

@marisaeileen, exactly !! They made the mother just feel worse then she already did. I felt horrible for her.

@mrsschmalz, my daughter is premature and when she does certain things people are like " does she do that cause she's a preemie" I'm like no she does it cause she's a kid she will learn and do things on her own time.

@amaperalta03, I hear the exact same thing all the time! He was a month early and I was told his development might be behind because of it like okay that's fine! And my grandma will telling how my cousin did this and this at 2 months old why isn't my son? Like umm okay...he's literally on the right path and developing normally and she makes me feel like crap because he's developing normal and not ahead like all her grandkids were...like thanks...she even has the nerve to say I'm doing something wrong with him

@sharonpaige13, I go through that same thing I had my daughter at 29 weeks and people always compare their child's grown and development with my child.

@amaperalta03, it's honestly stupid! Every kid will go at their own pace no reason to push them when they are ready they will be ready easy as that! I'm sure every mom is working with their child and if they aren't picking it up right away that's fine keep working with them the moms are doing the right thing by doing just that and people need to be supportive over it not shut them down
