My mother in law believes that opening the crib before the baby is born is bad luck.... She keeps telling me not to, as if I'm not going because she says so. I don't believe those old sayings.

My mom is the same way. she's so upset that the nursery is almost done and pretty much everything is washed. She wanted to have my baby shower after he was born (I'm 37+4 today and today was my shower). If she had her way it would've all been done while I was in the hospital and had no say in anything

I would respectfully state my opinion and if they don't like it, they don't have to be around. I hate when people force their opinions and beliefs on me. @proudmomma2016 My mom does it and I tell her I don't want to hear it.
