If doctor said baby was head down during the ultrasound I would say he is most likely still head down. Babies can still move out of position though. But my guess is it was probably baby's bottom he felt. I couldn't distinguish between my baby's bottom or head until my doctor confirmed that my baby was head down and what I was feeling in the middle part of my belly was her bottom.

Where are you feeling kicks? If you feel hard strong kicks in your bladder hubby was probably right, but if you are feeling them in your ribs or upper part of your belly then he is probably still head down my son flip flops a lot and that's how I tell if he is head up or head down
