How do you deal with body-based self esteem issues caused by your new pregnant body type?
@fruitloop13, I'm so happy that I'm not alone in this. I know that wonderful things are coming of this, but I'm still struggling to keep up with all my body's changes. I've always been a very small person, so it's very overwhelming a lot of the time for me.
I know how you feel @chappie ... i know the changes my body is going through will lead to amazing things but I do struggle to look in the mirror and see something different than I am used to. I have always worked hard to stay fit and have a good body image. I think the best way I have dealt with it is making healthy choices. eating well and exercising let me be able to tell myself that the roundness of my belly is DEFINITELY because there is a baby in there and not because I ate 5 doughnuts today. it also helps me to know that I will get back to my old self faster and remember that the big round belly is temporary. I think it's totally okay to feel the way we do because the changes are huge and they can be hard. and i dont think there is anything wrong with looking forward to getting your old body back. I hope this helps!
@chappie, i completely understand. I'm the same. I have to remind myself when I turn sideways and feel very pudgy that im not, in fact, pudgy. just housing a tiny person!
