yes they did. even with them not being consistent my cervix was dilating. I couldn't time my contractions with my second cause they were so inconsistent. I went to the doctor at 11am and was checked due to having contractions and was 8.5cm dilated

even in active labor. the only time they were actually consistent were right before delivery
