My boyfriend has also told me the same. I say if he supports you and is willing to be the provider then go for it. At first I was in denial of being at home and felt like even though I was at home taking care of the house and our daughter I wasn't doing much to contribute. But he reassured me that just as much as I feel it's nothing to take care of our children because I'm mom and that's my duty. He feels it's nothing to him to be the worker and provide because he wants to and that's his duty. Not many men think that way.

I'm having that same struggle too. I really miss having my own money and contributing but the thought of being able to raise my son is a pretty great one. I am going to look into a nanny position where we live, kinda the best of both worlds.

I'm the same way. I don't like asking him for much. He usually just reassures me that I can ask him. Eventually if I don't go back to school, I'll go back to work. But while my daughter is small I'm glad I can be the one to take care of her. @babytj0214

must be nice,,,to have that option I have always worked 40-60 hrs with each of my2 sons , just took off a few wks when they were born.I'm too independent and make more more than him ,so I'm used to my own income

Is having a joint account an option? I've never been married, but my parents have been married for 25 years and my stepmother was a stay at home mom but she never had to ask for money because she always had her own card for their joint account.

I would do it!!! I have been a stay at home mom since February and I love it!!! I enjoy my toddler soo much and it made this pregnancy much easier on me. We have a joint account and he always makes sure I have money in there so I don't have to keep asking him for any. He has a great job so we've been doing great and have actually saved up a lot of money before we started having kids!!!

@nygirl3rdbabymiami, my husband makes 3 times more than me. I never would think to stay home but I am so in love with my kids and want to take care of them instead of a sitter

@shananaginsx, I should but can't. he pays for everything now that my disability didn't come yet..... he pays 3000 a month for everything. that's allot

@ceeasquared, joint account is nice but only he will be putting in money and I would really feel bad. I feel bad now that I haven't contribute cuz disability money didn't come yet

@babytj0214, if i were you I would try it,,, i personally would love to be home once my newborn son is born,I'm pretty sure this will be my last baby I am 37 , and times is gone in a blink of any eye.I wouldn't mind 3-6months just me and a newborn bonding time, so see how it goes for you, yrs ago my oldest sister had twins she stayed home until they were 3yrs old ,it drove her nuts but, if i went to babysit them at times they were so good for me
