depends on what insurance you have. my insurance knew I was pregnant and they told me to just tell the hospital what insurance I have and my son was added right away.
I would call them to let them know you're expecting and see what they say. at the insurance company I worked at, they couldn't add the baby til after because we needed the SSN.

My son was on my insurance prior to his birth , i received an "Unborn Padilla" insurance card for him (Padilla is my lastname)
