I found out my gender through an ultrasound but I still took the tests and all to detect disorders and all that

they told me at 21 they wouldn't be covered by my insurance because of my age

I found out through ultrasound as well but they offered me the blood tests to determine gender & disorders. I only did the disorder one but it may depend on the insurance because mines was covered by mines.

Insurance doesn't cover the gender blood test but it covers the disorder ones if you're young!

you can do the test they want including the gender in your insurance cover but it's all up to you if you want to find out through the blood test or ultra sound.

You're probably talking about the cell-free DNA test. It checks for chromosomal abnormalities and can also tell the gender, and can be performed as early as 9 weeks. Some insurance providers cover it. Mine (Aetna) only covers it if you are high risk, over 35, or have had other tests that point to any of the screened disorders.
