so how exactly do drs not expect a baby who can't really hold his head up to not be in a swing or bouncer or laying on his back, or expect them to not get a flat head?? opinions..
It's tough work love. Kee absolutely hated tummy time too. Just gotta keep trying. I ended up getting him a bunch of toys that he could work towards touching while on the floor. I also would read him a story while on the floor. every couple of pages, I would rotate him. I also would work out with him while he was on the floor. I really had to keep him engaged. He didn't sit up until he was 8 months. Scooted at 10. Crawled at 11. Walked at 12. The hard work payed off. All those frustrating moments wear on you but I promise you its beyond worth it all.
I have the same problem. My daughter doesn't like being in a baby carrier and doesn't like tummy time. Just continue doing tummy time a few minutes out of the day he should be fine. My daughters head is a little flat not much and her doctor said once shes able to sit up it will go away. I don't have the time to hold her all day long, I have way too much stuff to do. @this.mom.life.2016
My son was a NICU baby for over a minth, that's how his head became flat on one side. Held him as often as humanly possible but I unfortunately couldn't hold him all the time because I couldn't be there 24/7. His PT says a lot of NICU babies go through it. Doctors are usually pretty understanding when any baby has the problem . His head is almost perfect again.
he hates being worn too, I've gotten a $40 baby carrier tgat he can use as he gets bigger but he just cries when I put him in it. and i feel as if my son's head isn't that flat it may be some but I can't just sit and hold him all the time or I would get nothing done @kbrown91 @babynessa @babes101116 @showersoverflowers
I do tummy time, or at least try my son doesn't enjoy it very much and always rolls to his back and since his drs appt a few days ago I've been trying to lay him on his sides to sleep wheb I am awake
Tummy time and try wearing him. my little man had low muscle tone and couldn't hold up his head until he was 4 months. Perfectly round noggin :) just make sure you do stretches with him and keep up short bouts of tummy time throughout the day!
My doctor understood that I can't always hold my daughter to prevent a flat head. Said to hold her when I can and do tummy time or if I was folding laundry have her laying on the bed doing tummy time. Said she wasn't worried about it because every baby gets it and it goes away once their able to sit up on their own.
