A doula is (usually) a woman who supports a mother (and partner/family) throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The doula acts as a resource for the mother and can provide helpful information about local doctors, pediatricians, lactation information etc. She can also be a shoulder to lean on when pregnancy gets tiring and you need uplifting.
