If this is something you are genuinely worried about, maybe you should talk with him about changing his lifestyle. There is a walk of life for everyone and that's just the way it is but if the two of you want to successfully and selflessly raise a child side by side, that is such a small thing to change. He won't be tested by your doctor. However this could inhibit him from having a well paying job down the line. If he does drugs, he does them. whatever. But if it worries you on whatever level, I think it's time just to discuss that with him before it's a big deal. plus it's just always good to have an open line of communication about these sorts of things. no, why would they drug test him?.. If when you give birth to baby and the baby has drugs in his or her system then yes thats when they would drug test him..but only if the baby is born with drugs in his or her system they would take custody from you and test him and if hes positive take custody from him.. that's the only way that will happen
