How bad does it hurt to get your membranes stripped? And how long did you put off getting it done…

It made me come up off the table. I have a very high cervix. The doctor could barely reach. I see your 39 weeks? That's a good time. I would do it if they offer. I lost my mucus plug the next day but I still had to be induced at 41+6. I think if I had asked for it sooner he would have come closer to his due date. His head was stuck in my pelvis so I had a c-section.

yes, I will be 39+4 at my appt and just dont want him to ask and not know what I wanna do. I dont wanna do it if it isnt going to help or if it is going to be extremely painful. My cervix was still high at my appt last tuesday and I was dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced.

When I was pregnant, my midwife offered it, but I declined. It's not 100% effective in starting labor and can sometimes do more harm than good. I was, also told it's very painful.

No problem! It's all a matter of preference and how high your pain tolerance is. I'm a baby, so I said "fuuuuuck that" 😂

I never dilated or thinned so maybe you will have more luck with it than I did!

It didn't hurt me! Cervix check hurts me more than membrane sweep and cervix check doesn't hurt either haha

Oh and it also didn't induce Labor for me, caused light spotting but that was it, I didn't even dilate more until actual labor kicked in
