so, my LO has always been the perfect car rider.. until this past week. Any time I put him in his car seat he freaks the fuck out the entire way screaming and crying. He's absolutely fine if i stop and hold him or once we get to our destination. I've read about babies getting separation anxiety around this age, and I think my poor little man is associating car rides with me leaving him. Since there are times my family watches him while I go to work/ school. I feel so bad, I wish I could be with him 24/7 but I've gotta do what has to be done to provide for us.

Have you tried singing to him? My son hated the car seat and I would sing him a couple different songs every time and eventually he just got use to it. Then your family could sing him the same songs 😊

Yes and I did try that at the very end of our trip while leaning into the backseat and holding his hand while I was driving and it seemed to work, unless he was just worn out from crying lol. @mommy_faith

Haha yeah maybe a little bit of both 😊 I use to dread car rides because my LO would just scream the whole time!

I hope so too! I covered my sons car seat with toys and had a mirror so he could see himself and he would still scream unless I sang Old McDonald had a farm lol

That's how mines is! He's got toys and a mirror. Idk of maybe a tablet that played movies would help? @mommy_faith

Oh I'm sure it would be a great distraction! Baby Genius makes sing along videos and I'll put it on and my son will be glued to it lol that would probably work!
