How dilated were u when u received your epidural? Did u have pitocin?

Yes and they don't like giving the epidural before active labor which begins about 5 cm because if you get it to early you can end up with a c section

4cm with contractions 1min apart was when I got mine. That is when they considered me in active labor.

Thanks @studio.ghibli.mom23 @cbe2016 I'm choosing to reject pitocin and may or may not get epidural I'm wanna say no but wanna keep my options open if I need it.

I had pitocin and got the epidural at 4/5 cm. Had the baby an hour later

I had both with my first and it was all just horrible. I was at a 5. this time I'm doing everything all natural

I got the epidural as soon as I got to the hospital but I was only 1cm . My water hadn't even broken yet so they made me nap until it did lol

I think I had pitocin with my second and I was 5 cm they gave me an epidural broke my water bag and then started pitocin my contractions weren't consistant

@michelle2220, good for u sorry u had bad experiences this is my first and I hope to do it all natural I wish to labor at home mostly bc I don't want the experience like some others of pitocin and making the baby come forcefully I just don't think God intended it that way regardless of what hospitals say. They just want us in and out when I expressed this to my dr she said ok but it's perfectly normal to be in labor 36 hr natural and for me to get ready and agree with staying hm long as possible I tell husband the second I get to hospital first thing they r going to wanna do is pump me full of drugs. I hate the mindset.
