So I've been pumping and was also supplementing with some formula until I got my supply to where it needed to be... But I feel like my little one isn't getting enough from my milk. I feed her and she's still fussy and restless but it I feed her a formula bottle she actually gets milk drunk and sleeps long stretches... Is it possible that maybe my milk just isn't fatty enough for her? Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you pace feeding when you give her the bottle? And how much formula are you giving? It should be 1-1 1/2 oz for every hour baby dosnt eat so if she eats every 3 hours she should only be getting about 3oz. Formula can also stretch out her tummy causing her to want more after nursing. But if it's possible I would nurse all day everyone she gets hungry instead of formula just nurse on demand and see if that can up your supply.

Are you pumping only? If you are I would pump every 2hrs for 15min on each side to get your supply up. (Don't get discouraged though, your doing great!!)

I'd stop with formula all together and nurse on demand as mentioned above. your milk will get more fatty with baby's needs. I had to pump and nurse to get my milk to where it was suppose to be but when it regulated my nugget really benefitted. I know it's exhausting but it's so worth it in the long run.. financially and emotionally. It can take a month for your milk to regulate. Maybe call the lactation consultant at the hospital you delivered at for a visit. they have so many helpful hints and tricks. Most of the time this is a free service

Also, when pumping, you'll want to mimick baby's sucking. In order to do this you'll pump on a fast speed until you see or feel a let down, slow down the speed for about 30 seconds, pick up the speed again for another let down and keep repeating the process until you are empty. This produced awesome fatty milk and great quantities. It tricks your body into thinking baby is at the breast. Use pumping times to slam back a bottle or two of water too

I am exclusively pumping... So I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I am currently pumping every 3 hours for 20-25 minutes on each side. When I first started pumping, my milk was yellowish and I could see the fat separation on the milk that was refrigerated... Now, my milk is white and looks exactly like cows milk with almost no fat separation... @showersoverflowers @mommybump2016

I know the yellowish part of the milk is the colostrum that happens before your milk comes in, now I'm guess since you are EP that's why their isn't much fat so you probably should be pumping more, I'm not too sure (sorry I know you posted this two days ago) if you have a fb look for a group called expressions!
