week 4 of pregnancy is when u start actually producing hcg (which is the week after ur missed period)

@tattie, You can take a pregnancy test the day of your missed period for the most accurate result! Don't get discouraged if its negative sometimes it takes a few days for the HCG to build in your system for a positive! Good luck!
