Get yourself a good size bassinet. The baby can sleep in there for a while. Or a pack and play. Some have a small bassinet and then an upper level and a lower level and some have a space on the side for diaper and wipes so you have everything you need in one spot.

When we only had a one bedroom and I was planning on having the baby in the same room-- I was told a pack n play with the bassinet/changing table is awesome as @valrocks said. I actually have one now that we have a two bedroom and a nursery and I set it up in the living room. It is awesome! I'd recommend one for sure. I was told pack n play, Swaddlers, a baby swing or rock n play I hear are lifesavers, a baby carrier so you can be hands free but still comfort the baby and carry them around....uhm a sound machine and stock up on stuff for baby's first cold. I hear the nose fridas are awesome though I haven't gotten one myself. I would say get a pack n play and a small baby rocker (takes up less room than a swing, it is less expensive and easier to move) and a baby carrier would be top three in my eyes. Though I am not experienced as a mom just yet :p

Get a pack n play it's great for years even when they are 3-4 years old! Plus it'll give you a place to put the baby while you do stuff around the house! You pack it down and it's barely takes any room. I paid less than $150 for mine brand new and it was totally worth it, especially when I'm going to be a stay at home mom I can easily take it into any room I want and like I said packs down into something small when your done using it 😄

They have the pack n play with the reversible changing table and napper for under $100. Swing or bouncy either one is great. Don't worry about getting a super cute diaper bag. Get one that has lots of storage and that will be comfortable. I always liked looking at the most liked or top picks for parents when looking for stuff online. it really helps me
