I feel really gross for posting this, but I am so confused by it. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for months. We tried to time it perfectly this month and after I was supposed to ovulate I have started having really rubbery, jelly like secretions. I went to wipe just now and a HUGE gob was my toilet paper. What is this, and is it a good sign? Is this a pregnancy thing? I'm going crazy. I cannot tell if that is blood or what in it.

So this is egg white mucus? Fertile mucus? I've had it for like a week though.

Cervical mucus changes with fluctuations in hormones (e.g. oestrogen). Following a period, mucus will typically be dry before becoming sticky, then creamy, then watery, before its most fertile state – clear, slippery and stretchy. Highly fertile mucus looks like raw egg white. This best aids the sperm on its passage to the egg, and provides an alkaline protection from the vagina’s acidic environment.
