If you want the honest truth....its horrible. Baby #2 I won't be asking to be induced at 39 weeks. The pain is bad and my epidural didn't work. I caught a very high fever that I literally almost died and my daughter's heart rated dropped so much that she almost died. My husband was crying because he almost lost me and his daughter. Nurses weren"t sure what to do. Next time I will for sure wait until my baby is ready to come out instead of asking to be induced.
@babynessa, I dont want to be induced at all!! I am almost 39 weeks and just feel like my baby doesnt and wont wanna come out and am scared my dr will end up wanting to. I hope I dont hwve to be induced. 😕 I still have time but it just freaks me out thinking about it.
I'd wait. Even if you go past your due date. Try things to naturally induce labor. The day I went in to get induced I was already at 5-6cm dialated. Just didn't have any contractions. I could have went into labor by myself but me being in a rush went and got induced. Because I was being impatient and greedy and almost lost my daughter. It literally would have been my fault since I didnt wait. If you can avoid it I would. But there are many moms that have great experiences being induced so maybe if you have to be then you'll hopeful have a different experience than I did. @twinmommy123,
I had to be induced at 38 weeks because of my bp. It wasn't terrible. I didn't get an epidural. I only felt period cramps. My nurse said I must have a high threshold for pain because I had some pretty rough contractions. It all ended up being pointless because she wasn't ready to come, but she had to, so I had a c section. She was so comfy in there that they literally had to suction her out with a vacuum. My doc said he'd never had to do that before with a c section lol.
I was induced with my two for going over and it wasn't all that terrible. The contractions got rough at times but my first took 12 hours from start to finish, my second took 8 hours start to finish. From what I hear contractions are worse when being induced but I don't have anything to compare them with. (Hoping this time around baby will come on her own) i did both without epidural as well. You're almost there!!! Good luck!!
