so I have 5 days to finish getting stuff ready. and I have no idea what I need for breastfeeding. I just want to get the basics. don't need a pump just yet, not that I can afford one right now, but yea any idea for basic stuff that I need for breastfeeding?
I'd get storage bags/containers for all the extra milk! Because your boobs will want to be milked more than baby eats lol
Well it was for me because sometimes you may not be able to get baby to eat. That's when the pump comes in handy because you can pump to keep your milk flowing. Your body only produces as much as your using, but if you ever come across a struggle with baby eating then you still need to pump. You know?
A breast pump is pretty necessary. However, your insurance or WIC should provide you with one. Other than that though, nipple cream & nursing breast pads...
Yeah you do but your doctor or OB can just write it, it doesn't need to get approved or anything.
@mommygreene, I haven't asked yet. I heard u have to have a prescription. my ins is so difficult they won't even pay for my iron or prenatals >. <
the beautiful thing about breastfeeding, you have the basics, breasts. really only need nipple cream and maybe breast pads
If your insurance won't provide one, wic will usually give you one. The prescription part is pretty simple. all I had to do was call the pharmacy listed and they faxed over the paperwork and my doctor filled it out and faxed it back
