Birth Story!
It was Saturday and I had been having contractions consistently the whole afternoon and the night before, I just didn't go into L&D because I didn't want them to send me home. Well it was my cousins baby shower and my parents, siblings, fiance and I were on our way. We got there at like 2:30 we ate food and we were probably there for and hour maybe 2 when the contractions and the heat were really getting to me and my fiancé decided to go home so I could rest, but on our way home it was so intense that we decided to go to the hospital, but we had to stop at the house to pick up my bag. Well yea we get to the hospital they make me change and they check how dilated I was and I was 3-4 cm dialated. So they admit me and they put the IV in, let me tell u getting the IV in hurt more than actually getting the epidural. Well yea I ended up giving in and getting the epidural when I was 5-6 cm dialated I cried because I expected it to hurt so bad and it didn't, I was so overwhelmed. Well it was like 3am and I was like 7-8 cm dilated when the nurse noticed my water had broke she changed the little pad I was laying on and well she said I still had some of the bag still there so we had to wait. I tried sleeping I really did but I couldn't my mom, fiance, and mother in law had no trouble sleeping tho. Well it's 6 am I am so uncomfortable, my upper back was hurting so bad because of how I was laying and I got checked and was 9 cm but the bag was still there so we had to wait. The nurse tried to get me to push before her shift was over at 7, but it was a total fail. They started prepping the room with the baby's basinet and anything the Dr would need. I still hadn't seen my Dr. And I turned out my Dr wasn't going to be delivering me 😒, I was annoyed but whatever, so by 8 I was ready to push it took quite some time but he was born at 8:43. It was so hard tbh it was so much pressure on my butt I cried a lot. I thought I didn't tear but i had a second degree tear, the placenta was delivered I was all stitched up and so worn out but finally relieved to have my baby boy with me. If I could I would do it all over again. 💕👶🏻
