After delivery.... No one really mentions much about the healing process, the high strung emotions, the stitches that keep us together, the struggles of keeping a relationship, even the struggle to produce for your own child.

Is there a right way to go through the healing process? Or is everyone just prescribed Motrin? The stitches... When are they SUPPOSED to fall out or dissolve? What happened when your epidural didn't work out the way as planned? They never mentioned the emotions would be 10x worse than when I was pregnant... Nor did they mention I would be put inside of an adult size diaper in some fishnet underwear. They also never told me how heart wrenching it would be to be discharged from the hospital without my child in my arms while other mothers stare at me with sad eyes asking "did you have a baby? Did he have to stay?"

None of these things are really talked about on here that I have seen and I am wondering people's takes on these topics. Please share your stories here ❤️

Мама двоих (2 года, 3 года), ждёт третьего

I had my daughter at 33 weeks and she was flown in a helicopter an hour and a half away from me, within moments of birth. I had her at 3:00, held her long enough to see her face and she was gone. I had to stay in the hospital until the following day until 10. Staying in the hospital without your child, not knowing how they are or what is going on with them is a nightmare. Not to mention I also had a 11 month old that I couldn't see because it was RSV season. Once I did get to see her I was told I wasn't allowed to hold her because her skin was too thin, a week later when I was able to finally hold her it was for only 10 minute intervals every 4 hours. Horrible experience, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Finally 8 weeks later I took her home, her brother got to meet her for the first time and I didn't want to miss a moment more of her life.

yes... exactly. since I'm a ftm pretty much was just told you have the baby you stay at the hospital you leave. no one tells you the aftermath... you are bleeding non stop. uncomfortable at the hospital wearing those big pad like diapers those weird underwear. how it's not as easy for every mom to breastfed bc some babies don't latch to well. my son did not like to latch on my nipple. only sometimes and I had to switch to formula bc i would much rather have him eat thn not. also how the first few weeks you're so chaotic you and your SO have no idea what the baby is crying for yet... you learn all this of course and it gets way more easier but in the beginning you're completely lost. also how even after you've given birth your hormones are still out of whack and you cry for nothing still. it's an experience. that's for sure.

It's odd because they aren't really talked about anywhere... No one tells you what happens once the baby is out. I had no idea about how bad it would hurt after everyone acts like the pain instantly goes away and I had no idea how hard it would be to see my daughter in an incubator and the Motrin helps but not enough and the depression I got is so bad most days I don't wanna wake up I don't wish these things on anyone

my recovery so far is OK I'm not in a lot of pain my back did hurt like hell from the epidural it felt like u was standing up all day when I got up to do something my half bottom of my body was sore. my emotion was weird also like j said on the other post I started crying because I let my self stress about every little thing especially my baby over heating cause it's summer where I live and it gets really super hot in my room and I let my self Google which is bad and started worrying about all kinds of stuff and just broke down crying cause I was worrying about everything that's why I started asking a lot of questions on her to get opinions from other moms who had a new born or has one and see their insight instead of go ogling it gives me more peace at mind. also no one told me that when you leave the hospital you would miss it like it was your home you were leaving from I didn't want to go back home for some reason idk why and when I did get home I was missing being In the hospital. also never knew that I would miss being pregnant that's all I kept thinking about even though I was so excited my daughter was here I just kept thinking about her kicking me and being in my stomach and having my belly back in the way. at times I thought I would feel movement like she was still in there.

My epidural didn't help during labor. And my daughter and I almost died during birth. Recovery for me was so much better than the labor process. I had three stitches and only took my pain medication twice. I didn't like the way it made me feel and I wanted to make sure my daughter was taken care of. I only bleed for 6 days after birth. And breastfeeding was not a sucess for me. My daughter absolutely hated breastfeeding but loved being formula fed. Like I said PP was so much better than the labor process.
