I'm so exhausted. No amount of sleep seems to be enough, honestly. Everyone's like "sleep when she sleeps!" but she's been having so many tummy issues that I'm afraid to even look away from her in case she spits up while she's on her back. David goes back to work tomorrow night and so it'll be just me by myself for 12 hours...the house is disgusting. So much needs to be done. I can barely find a minute to pee. I can't take my pain medicine because it'll make me sleepy. And I'm so confused because like, she just eats and eats and eats. But I don't think she's actually hungry..she'll spit up a ton and the formula hurts her belly but I can't figure out how to tell if she's full. It's just hard. I feel like I'm failing or like im going to fail...how do people do this

you'll be okay mama, my son was the same way and I had yo try 3 different formulas for him to find one that doesn't make him spit up. it is a phase though, he did it for about 3 months, he's going to be 6 months tomorrow and doesn't spit up unless he's hot. don't feel like a failure, its all new and yes its scary, you can feel their stomach and see if its hard or not to see if she's really full. what formula is she on?

You're not a failure, those first few wks are SO hard. I didn't know how I was going to do it and she's my 2nd! But you will be great, you'll get in a groove and figure out the formula and it'll all fall into place

@tatiananoelani it's the similac optigrow or something..the same as they have at the hospital. it's hard to tell if she's full because she just constantly tries to latch on to everything! if you let her latch on to your finger she'll keep on until she falls asleep. we burp her after every half ounce or so and sometimes she'll just try to fall asleep while she's being burped but she's still wanting to latch on to things. it's so confusing and the hospital never really told us how to tell if she's full, they actually just constantly over fed her.

the similac advanced worked best for my son, and he was the same way. do you use pacifiers? those helped out a lot for me when I realized they just wanted something to chew on, and often I let him sleep on my chest to help the fussiness as well. don't be afraid to try out different formulas to see what sits best, I noticed the advanced wasn't as thick as other when I tried it. but also with that you have to allow at least a week of trying the formula to see how it really affects her.

My son had bad spit up and bad tummy issues. He was also diagnosed with acid reflux and I have to give him meds 2x day. We had to try different formulas. He is now on soy and doing wonderful. I tried breastfeeding but it didn't agree with him. I'd call the doctor if I were you and see what they recommend.
