I've never thought about this before but my grandmother brought it up to me yesterday..... I told her how I was planning on coming by to the pool this week (I just float around and tan in it,not swim) and she told me to be careful and keep in mind that since I am dilating and I don't need any bacteria or anything getting in there. Is that true? Can that actually happen? I was 1.5cm dilated last week which isn't much but I'm still curious.

Good question but they do say if your dilating to not take baths for the same reason .. Call your doctor

That's just what I was told both times in ptl.. Now if your in the tub for a water birth ur going to deliver anyway ... I was just told the bacteria could get up .. I'm just repeating what I was told in my past pregnancies but if she's closer to delivery maybe it's fine I'd still check to make sure a pool is different
