how come some people are on there 2nd sweeps at 38 weeks or earlier my midwife wont offer till im 40…

Mine with my@3rd was because I was a scheduled induction at term. They did sweeps every few days to help avoid or ripen my cervix this time I'll prob get again as I'm also gonna be an early scheduled induction due to health issues so they will want to avoid hospital if possible

Some say they do nothing anyway some say it will only help body of its already ready and some just say it releases chemicals to help push u forward. I had three before my waters broke but that may have happened anyway. I couldn't have them with my 4th as she was unstable lie and I was induced anyway at 37 w

I wasn't offered one until 41 weeks but luckily I went into labour myself at 40+5 😃

I was wondering the same thing my midwife wouldn't give me one the day before I turned 40 weeks had to wait another full week as she only works in the clinic Wednesdays thank god I went in at 40+4 xx
