Sorry to be nosey but is there a medical reason they are inducing you before 40 weeks? I really want to be induced if I get close to be due date with no signs of labor but idk how to convince my doctor

Not all doctors require a medical reason to induce mind would induce me at 38 weeks due tithe fact her body is measuring over 40 weeks but my cervix is still closed

Your fine, no I don't have a medical reason, according to my doctor, the only way they can induce you before 39 weeks is IF there's a medical reason, but at 39 weeks or after there DOESNT have to be a medical reason, it just has to be agreed on by both you and your doctor. My doctor did an internal exam before he would schedule it, my cervix is soft and I'm 2cm right now, therefore my body is preparing for birth, so he said I would do great with it. My doctor actually offered it to me. This is my 4th child and 4th time being induced. @shayleighnikole

my friend got induced early because her baby was already 10 lbs . did you get epidurals with all your births ? sorry to be nosey you just have went thru this a lot and im having an all natural waterbirth and im afraid of being induced .

I did get get epidural a with them all, but I plan on not getting one this time, I'm actually gonna try naturally inducing him next week, before the induction date, just because I wanna experience going into birth naturally. Plus even if he still stays put until the induction date I wanna be as close as I can to actually going into labor, so it'll work out either way. But inductions aren't bad in my experience. I can tell you with my first I was induced at 3:00- I had her the next day at 1:15, I only pushed for 14 minutes. My second I went in at 10am, went into labor at 10pm, he was out at 10:54- my 3rd I went in at 6am, started pushing at 11:00am, he was out at 11:53am. People say the labor is more intense when being induced, but I couldn't tell you if that's true or not cause I've never went into labor naturally, but I can say all 3 times, I didn't really start getting bother by contractions until I was 5cm, ended up receiving the epidural every time, but not because of the pain, but because I got scared. @princesssskxo

Your welcome! & i hope you have the best of luck with your water birth, & I wanna say its very smart of you to consider & learn about the "what ifs" such as inductions, try to do that with whatever else your worried about when it comes to your birth that could change to help yourself be prepared, it makes the thought of birth less scary when your understanding all angles. :) @princesssskxo
