frustration time!
My husband and I live with his grandmother, my 2 year old is still on pacifiers, I am trying to wean him off of them so I cut the tips of his pacifiers and he did really well last night with his pacifier cut and just went to sleep without it . and this morning I told her all about it and how I was very proud of him. and ten minutes before my son's bed time I can't find any of the pacifiers that I had cut so I ask her if she has seen them and she told me that they make dylan sad so she threw them away! wtf! I'm tierd of her doing shit like that I got mad and my husband took her side of course. I tell her I no longer want her giving dylan pacifiers during the day only when he sleeps at night and any time my son starts to cry she puts one in his mouth super fast and I have to be the bad guy and take it away from him and make dylan cry even more! then she gets upset because I took his pacifier...I tell her he's MY SON do what I want! plan and simple. am I being the bad guy or should she listen to what I want done with my son....

She should just listen to you but maybe if you have a goodbye pacifier party for your son include her as well. What you do is get all the pacifiers together and tie them with balloons and tell your son that the babies in heaven need them more then him and let them float away and before all this talk to her and tell her how you feel

She should be listening to what you want. I go through similar things with my dad. We have lived with him on and off over the years and when my oldest was a baby he would never let her cry. Picked her up instantly. It drove me crazy because when we moved out, she wanted to be picked up the second she started crying. I would get so mad bc he wasn't listening to what I wanted and now we are back at his place and he is doing the same thing with our new baby. It's not like I am letting my girl(s) cry it out, but sometimes I will let her cry for 5 mins of i need to go to the bathroom or finish making dinner or whatever. But he once again is instantly picking her up the second she makes any noise, even if it's not full on crying. So I totally get how you are feeling! You are right in this situation. It's your child and everyone should respect how you and your hubby want to raise him.

my son is only 2 and I feel like he won't understand if I flew the pacifiers up to babies. I did talk to her today about it but I don't think she understands because she just only said the same thing over snd over that it makes him sad when there gone or cut @reaganmommy2015
and that's exactly what I'm going threw plus the pacifiers!!!! it's super lame 😠 idk lol when I told her I cut every single one now she got kinda mad and said he won't like it......I honestly dgaf.....she needs to respect how I want my son to be taken off of pacifiers.

I kind of think that if she annouys you like that you should go ahead and move. Or not let her watch him. It's not her trouble to wean him. Or deal with him crying. I get how frustrating it is when someone doesn't listen to your wishes. But if your in her home... It kinda goes with the territory. However, if she is living with you then she is stepping on your turf. And your husband should stick up for his home.

wish it was that easy my husband only makes $1000 a month and that isn't nearly enough money to live on our own with 2 children. we pay rent here and it is my child so i feel like she should listen to how I want to raise him . she didn't push him out. she never buys us anything to help with him. I understand that because I hate when she buys him things because she makes us pay for it when it's rent time.
