also what @daniellecaprara11 said a different position, I found the football position to be the easiest while my body and baby got use to breastfeeding. (that's where you put the baby's feet under your arm pit and cradle the head in the palm of the hand on the side your feeding on
if your nipples are cracking and bleeding while feeding try pumping and giving your body a few hours of a break. when I was having cracked nipples the nurses told me to pump for 24 hours then try breastfeeding again... after I did that it never hurt to breastfeed again!
Try using your own breast milk .. After u nurse rub the nipple with bm and let air dry
Football hold for sure! I breastfed my first until he was 22mo then I thought piece of cake with #2 but nope it felt like my nipple was being ripped off I didn't know what was wrong he also had a bad lip tie which really isn't a major thing. Anyways i saw a LAC consultant I told her I was about to go buy a nipple shield because the pain was so bad BUT she said not to and to try the football hold kinda shove their face in your boob it allows for a wider mouth so they suck your whole areole instead of just the nipple. Almost instantly I noticed a huge difference! Who knew it was that simple!! Lol now I know for baby #3 in a few days if that happens ill be prepared! :) I hope this helps.
