I hate NY laws sometimes , my bf was buying beer and they ask for my ID too! Like everyone brings it with them I don't even drive I barely have it with me. I look well over 21 and showing obviously I'm not drinking and not underage. Plus if someone underage wants alcohol they are not going to the store with the person who is buying.

They do that here too and sometimes even for cigarettes! I get so pissed and bitchy with them when they do it!

yeah my bf just said we aren't together lol then after he paid he gave me his credit card for my stuff and she gave me sucha dirty look!

It's unfortunately just part of their job they are required to ask for both. You'd be suprised how many people do go with someone to buy alcohol or cigarettes that are under age and plan on drinking/smoking :(

That happened to me and my boyfriend and I had to walk all the way out to the car just to grab my ID. He asked the cashier if he was there with his 19 year old some they wouldn't sell him the alcohol because his son is underage. The cashier said yes they would deny the sale of the alcohol. What is that crap? I'm sorry but if someone is going in to buy beer you really have no idea if they are buying it for underage kids or not. The minute they walk out the door they could hand that beer off to underage individuals. They are lucky I wasn't pregnant at the time id have snapped
