Don't let anybody make you feel dumb for having a rational fear. Like you said, keep your babies close, educate them and love them. That's all we can do.

@maya.rose, she stated she is scared to have a mixed son... WHY? Because cops are out to "only shoot blacks" my family is still kicking AND I have 2 that are BLACK COPS... soooo..... Why is she scared?

I wasn't shot at... my brother, cousins, grandma... nope none of them. I had a friend die because he robbed a convenient store.... HE did that, not cops, not white people, HE did that.

People seem to forget there's racism in every race. There's killings of every race. This is getting out of hand. Sorry but all lives matter. Quite frankly, this black lives matter movement is ridiculous. Yes there are bad cops. But bad cops come in all races. Why just pick on white cops? Oh wait I forgot because they're white, isn't that discrimination? Because of our skin color we automatically are assumed to be guilty to be cold murders. When half of the time people NEVER look into all evidence .

@mlgh92, you sound really confused. So because you and your family weren't teased you don't see the problem? Nothing you said was relevant to her post. It's normal for someone having a black son to be scared/worried that they too can killed be for no reason.

Idk where you are from as in the types of neighborhood's or type of people but my brother and I were never teased, never discriminated against, never talked down too, never disrepected. Not by teachers, adults, friends, friends parents, or any other adults. I don't know if it's the area or what but we live 1 hour away from Dallas so I don't understand this race thing. It's got to be pretty bad in your area to keep discussing it and being scared to have a child. I would LOVE to see my husbands face if I were to tell him, "Hey let's not have kids, I changed my mind because I'm scared they're going to be teased and discriminated against." He would say, you're fucking stupid of you think that. I would have to agree. My kids MIGHT get teased, they really might but it's my job as a mother to show them their culture, why it is important, and to not listen to others. We shouldn't have that problem period because of our area but if we did, it isn't a BFD, it just shows someone isn't happy with themselves so they picked and pinpointed my child, which is fine with me because my kids will have thicker skin when it's all over. These shootings... It's completely insane! I want to know where all the women were at when the bar in Orlando got shot at, I know there are women on here with gay brothers, friends, family members and we didn't have to hear about them ALL FREAKING DAY about how gays are being pinpointed. Nope, just prayers for them. This needs to stop and as mothers, your children need to know their culture, not learn to hate cops or white, not "blacklivesmatter" ALL LIVES MATTER EVERY SECOND OF EVERYDAY. I saw some bitch say "all lives do matter but black lives matter more today" you serious??? No, ALL LIVES! This is getting out of hand. Your child will be good if you raise them to UNDERSTAND. All of my cousins have more black in them because their dad's are black, mine is white so I'm lighter but they didn't tease my cousins either. We all went to school together, we all got along with everyone, and a lot of my family including me, graduated with honors!
