When do they check for dilation? And how exactly do they do it? Does it hurt lol. I start mine next…

Well. My first time getting checked. She put a glove on and shoved her middle finger up my who-ha to her knuckle and poked around and I started cramping.

Unless they think you're at risk for early labor, i vote decline cervical checks until labor. They're pretty much pointless. Causes cramping and spotting. Not to mention stress when mothers feel like they're suppposed to be dilated or thinned before labor starts

It doesn't hurt, but it isn't comfortable lol. I usually cramp a bit after. Just be sure to relax your muscles and it'll be easier. I started getting checked at 36 weeks.

Omg it hurts but I think only if you are high risk. I got mine checked at 30 weeks.

It depends on the dr, some dr's don't check for dilation. I go Monday and I'll be 36 weeks, and I'll get checked. It's not comfortable at all!!

I was checked starting at 30w. It didn't hurt, but I did bleed afterwards. Not much though.
