so at 33 weeks and 5 days I am already 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I heard sometimes it can still be weeks before actual labor but now I'm nervous and trying to get an idea. how long after you started dilating did you go into labor?

I'm am also 33 weeks and 5 days! And really it all depends you can actually stay that way for weeks

My sister started dilating around 34 weeks, and still went a few days overdue

I walked around from 36-39 dialated at a 4

At 36wks with my son I was the same, but I didn't make any progress after that. Had to be induced. It's really not a good guessing point unless you continue to see dilation with your next appointments.

that's what I figured but they felt strongly enough to give me a steroid shot for her lungs it just made me very nervous when they did that

thank you @em787 that puts my mind at so much more ease I go on Thursday for an extra scan as well to check her side because they are saying she was small so I was really freaking out that made me feel so much better
