that's stupid. that's what I did with My first and I told him if we get married then we can change it. we hyphenated it.

It is stupid. I don't even want to hyphenate it. I just feel like it's the only way I can get away with putting my last name in there without getting anybody hurt or offended 😒 @michelle2220

im just using my last name for my son... im not talking to my baby daddy anymore so he doesnt deserve that privilege

Well the thing is that him and I are still together and I know he's always gonna be in her life even if I don't want him to be at any point in the future, so I guess he kinda deserves to put his last name in there, but ugh. I just don't like the thought of us not being together later on and her being stuck with his name. @justine_kim

Yea. It's kind of demeaning to a man, especially when they're apart of the child's life. I'm giving my baby his dad's last name because he's a great dad so I know he'll always be there. I don't think a last name should be determined on whether you guys get married or not. Traditionally, children have their fathers last names when they're a part of their lives even if they aren't with the mom. It's kind of degrading to not want your baby to have his last name. If he was a shitty ass person and wasn't in your life, that's totally different. My best friends daughters has her last name because he dad wasn't in her life for a year. But yea, I would be upset too. Once you have her, it's not about you anymore, it's about your daughter. If you guys don't last then you can't take that away from your child because it is her father and he will be a good father to her.

All my kids have my last name.. Even after i got married.. I didnt change my last name when we got married.. because i didnt wana change the kids names.. And ibdef didnt want a diff last name then them.. And in my mind if we were to ever get divorced i didnt wanna go thru all that bullshit to get our last names back.. Glad i didnt.. Were now seperated.. But with my last daughter his mom wanted their name in there.. So i didnt even hyphenate it.. i jus added it before my last name.. So its more like a middle name.. but its in there.. Hope it works out girl. At the end of the day.. Hr will come to his senses and sign the bc.. If not in the hosp he can always do it later on.
