People always ask why my daughter is so small for her age. And I always explain she's a preemie and was born 11 weeks early & blah blah blah. But honestly I don't want her whole life and her appearance to be based on her being a preemie. Cause soon as people hear that they automatically make a face like she had/has a disability. & in no way shape or form is my child disabled, nor is she delayed. She's a regular kid just like the rest.

That shit pisses me off too. I just continue to say (after I explain the whole born 11 weeks early thing) that baby is the same size they would have been if he (for my case) came in his due date. And then I talk about his milestones.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, yes it's so annoying. And she's actually advance in a lot of areas based on her actual age.

people are so amazed that my daughter didnt have any complications in the NICU.. she just had to gain weight and learn how to bottle feed. they ask of she had any surgerys and when i say no they ask am i sure? like wtf do you mean am i sure?

@aniyahsmommy0403, omg yes my daughter was a feeder & grower no complications at all. I get the same exact questions like you sure nothing was wrong ? Umm I'm pretty sure

That's something that would bother me too. I've never had anyone ask if my son had any issues, I guess I kind of beat them to it by talking about his lack of health issues. I pretty much answer all questions before people can ask. It's annoying but I'm okay with raising awareness about prematurity and that it's not a guarantee for delays, health issues, compilations, etc. @aniyahsmommy0403 @amaperalta03

my niece was induced at 34 weeks d/t gest diabetes and weighed 5lb and is a yr old now and still tiny. she is walking talking and getting into everything. people always think she developed faster due to her size lol
