That's what we did! I plan on getting the convertible seat when he gets to be a few months old also. we didn't want to get it right away because it didn't have an easy way to carry it and it will be getting cold when he gets here so I don't want to carry him to and from the car! We plan on reusing the infant seat for our future kids so we didn't feel like it was waste of money 😊

Infant seats are so amazing especially when baby falls asleep in the car and you don't want to wake them. I considered not getting one this go round to save some money but then remembered how nice it is to not have to wake the baby up.

We're getting an infant to start off with mainly because of stroller situations. It's hard finding a safe stroller that you can just sit a newborn in. It's hard enough finding one for twins, newborn twins make it even worse. After a few months we're getting the convertible seats.

I got a infant car seat to start off with, but I'm getting the extend soon, so I'll already have it! infant car seat is so easy through the first few months so whenever they fall asleep you don't have to wake them to go into a store or something. @ashsloan

I'm doing an infant seat till they weight and heigh wise outgrow it and then I got the Britax marathon and I'll read face for as long as I can as well .. My friend is a fireman and said most babies just curl their legs it's totally fine no extended leg thing needed

@10yearslater0205, I know it's not necessarily needed but I just think it would be nice to have, especially if my children have longer legs like me.
