I was talking to my mom about hosting my own baby shower this time around. I gave her my ideas and she didn't seem to have much of an opinion. but then said that someone is supposed to offer to throw it for me. I said why it's my 2nd baby that isn't necessary. she said she didn't want to do it bc she rather give me all that money in presents which I completely understand. since we're having a little girl and it's a brand new experience I want to have one but now I'm 2nd guessing bc it's true the money we spend could be better off for things we need. I'm almost 30 weeks, times goes by fast so I need to make a decision soon..

My baby shower me and my mom spent $350 and I probably got $250 worth of gifts so I wish we would've just spent that money on baby stuff because not everyone knows what you need

I would buy baby stuff. even with a baby shower people don't get you things you want or really need. I'm sure you might want to change car seats and stroller and get crib things that are more girly and the clothes! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

@eryka616, if I spend alot it's only bc I want it to be how I like it. with my son everything was so simple and I received so much from my family friends.

@serrano_girl, see that's the thing I'm not expecting people to get me all those big things. I want them to celebrate with me not support this baby lol my friends and family are very generous tho. to me it's more welcoming my baby than getting things

maybe a small get together would be better instead of going all or with decorations and a big cake and a lot of food. just a few little things

I decided to just buy everything for my daughter and skip out on the baby shower being that whatever I would spend on the shower would be better off spent on buying her stuff. But I do plan on having a welcome shower once she is here

I was thinking of that too but she's born in September so it has to be indoors and my place is small. depending on the weather outdoors would be better so it's ventilated and people don't hog over her lol @kata120615

Oh yeah! a welcome shower would be a great alternative. might have some money gathered by then to buy the cute decorations lol
