Ugh. I'm already going through this DFCS bs with my 2 year old. Someone called and said her father was beating me and that we're both doing drugs in front of her. All lies. So anyway I moved into my dads and am under investigation and I'm going through the motions of getting the help I need to stay home with Alyce, like continuing food stamps and getting TANF, and making it where I don't have to work (I honestly wish I could work though I hate living off of others, especially the government). Well since I'm in a position to be able to better care for the baby on the baby, I told HER father that I would like to keep her a little while before having her move 400 miles away to live with him (since I wanted him to have her while I try to get on my feet and we split custody). It's doable now that I'm in a different and safer situation and I'll be able to stay home with her, etc etc. well he's pitching a fit trying to say he won't agree to it. Well nothing was ever signed or even drawn up agreement wise with a lawyer so I was telling him in order to get her like we planned right away, he'd have to take me to court. But by the time the baby would be here, the DFCS case should be closed but full of evidence proving just how fit of a mother and safe of an environment this house is for her. But he's still fighting it. I'm trying very hard to stay calm and try to talk to him rationally about it. But he's angry and being childish talking about me getting knocked up again just to not take care of that baby too. He's being very horrible to me. He even said he didn't like her name and the only reason he agreed was because I wanted it. And now he's just pulling a full 360. I don't wanna have to go to court I was genuinely hoping we could be adults and come to an agreement ourselves. My situation (where I live and people around me) has changed two or three times so the agreement had to change too. But with the DFCS investigation I have to stay where I am and be stable for my 2 year old. So obviously I'll be In position to care for the baby when she gets here. Plus, he's been living like a bachelor for years. He has 3 dogs, dog hair everywhere, almost no furniture besides a dresser and bed and couch, random tools on kitchen counters (he never cooked, barely kept snacks in the kitchen, etc) and it's just not a very healthy environment for baby. PLUS it's a split level, his mother lives upstairs and him downstairs. She's working on buying a property and moving out within the next year, and he's moving upstairs where there's more room. So there a lot of preparation and moving and baby proofing and this that and the other to do with his house. But for me? We just need a dresser and a bassinet and start buying clothes and that's it. Plus he works a lot of overtime and even without overtime he works a lot. So it would make more sense for her to be with me for a little while. If not the first year, then at least the first 6 months or so. I'm just so upset right now. /:

Stay strong, he's making this about something that it's not. The baby would be better off living with you, especially since you're acting like the only grown up here. You're her mother.. sooner or later, your mama bear claws will come out. But don't stress, that's bad for the baby!

@keepingupwithhenry, @love4horses thank you. I'm hoping to start up a little hobby with my stepmom soon to keep me distracted and maybe make me a little money on the side. Making all natural chopsticks. Lol. I'm trying to focus on the fact that's very unlikely that I will lose custody of either child. Trying to not think about how difficult he will make it for me if it does actually go to court.

Oh you'll for sure get custody. He can either pull up his pants and deal with what y'all have already agreed on, or he can have supervised visits with his baby after he takes you to court.

@keepingupwithhenry, I told him that for him to get the custody he wants (just him having her) then he'll have to deem me unfit which would end up taking both my kids from me. I don't know why he thinks he can win.

@keepingupwithhenry, he keeps trying to throw my depression in my face too. But even if it was an issue, 1) taking my kids is not the solution and 2) I'm already looking into getting counseling and MAYBE going on meds. I might have to wait till after baby is born to start them but I will be on them. (Don't feel comfortable with meds while pregnant, since I have MULTIPLE mental conditions)

Gosh if depression were a reason to take babies away from their moms, no mom would have their baby.

@keepingupwithhenry, exactly. The most he can do is simply make the whole process hell and put Charleigh through something she does not deserve to go through!

Ppl think that dcf will automatically take kids away, it's so stupid for them to call on others UNLESS there is a valid reason like kids being harmed. I like the fact that dcf tries to help and find a solution. I know a lot of folk who they've helped Vs took away. I pray things get better with u and your children...
