I'm exclusively breastfeeding and this waking up every hour or less is killing me, it's been 5 months and I'm so exhausted I just need a good few hours of consistent sleep at night, and so does my son. I'm thinking about trying some baby food out to see if it changes anything, maybe feeding him that before bed. Rice cereal won't work because he doesn't take bottles. Anyway, have any other mom's had this issue and can you offer any advice? I was trying to exclusively breastfeed only but I think it's time to throw some baby food in the mix.

I'm breastfeeding my 4 & a half mo only also! For 4 mo it's all me but for two week I have been feeding at dinner time stage 1 baby food! It helps him sleep a good bit long like 3 to 4 hour's and a little rice cereal mixed in the food will help! I warm the baby food with the cereal in the microwave like 30 seconds in little bowl together! I put my little boy in a highchair & put a bib on him! Let it cool and feed my little one with a spoon! I breastfeed him after he is buried! He Love's It!

I was just going to say rice cereal is actually supposed to be spoon fed normally to baby's.... not in the bottle. you can either mix it in food and heat it up a little bit or mid it with breast milk of you want to do just the cereal by itself. my lil one loved rice cereal when I started it with her.

Lol yeah I'm a FTM, I don't know how any of that works. His doctor told me to start putting rice cereal in a bottle before bed & I tried telling her he doesn't take bottles anyway. Even when I'm at work and someone is babysitting him he will straight up refuse it until he is so hungry that he'll force himself to down a few ounces. @mdomke22
