I didnt make it, I ordered it from lifes jewelry creations. they use a resin and mold it. but they have to do something to the milk to preserve it. I'm not sure what I've tried I'd love to make my own. I'm going to be ordering something for my mom with my daughters hair and my baby hair soon!
