juat gor back from dr appointment heard the babies heart beat 💙💙ugh hes perfwct ..on my way to hoapital to get a blood test at 16 weeks 3 days to make sure the bBies brain stomach and spine closed...do you ladies remember that test?

@kayla471, hmm..weird its a test drs make you take..its to make sure the babies skull tummy and spine closed properly.

I thought they checked that with an ultrasound?

hmm.. i think my doctor checked it with my 20 week ultrasound.. that was like an hour long ultrasound.. lol

It's called the AFP screening. It checks for DS and Spina Bifida. It's only a screening though and there are a lot of false positives. Anatomy scan will also look for any abnormalities.

@desireeanne, awww thank you ! yeah when i found out gender of our baby at 11 or 12 weeks with blood they checked for ds and he disnt have it thank god !!!!!

@tbianco20, awesome. That's good news. (: your testing will most likely check for Spina Bifida only like mine did. Best of luck! All will be fine! Just a routine blood test.

@desireeanne, awwww thanks so much love !!! i am so excited cause when test comea back good i can get ultrasound in 4 weeks when im 20 wks..i havent had a ultrasound since i was 8wks pregnant so hes going to be so big 😍😍😍 cant wait to see our son!!!

oh.. that one. i opted not to do it. i dont want to know. if it does i wont and cant be anymore prepared then i already am
