My baby is 4 months and we are going to the beach this weekend.. Why do they say no sunblock until 6 months? I don't want him to get burnt

I read It's something in the chemicals. But They do have clothes at babies r us baby bathing suits that have spf protection and it's like the wet suit shirts. They also have baby sunblock at babies r us for infants younger then 6months. Have fun at the beach ^_^

Mine is 3 months. I'm going to buy a baby tent and keep a hat on her. I would put a long sleeve lightweight shirt on the baby maybe.

I'd call the pediatrician and see that way you'll get the safest route

Obviously I'm gonna keep him as covered as possible but I'd like to put something on him as well just incase!! Problem is my child won't stay sitting anywhere so I'm gonna be holding him a lot. Just wondering if it was that serious of a thing not to put like baby sunblock on him @sandranatalia @sensdelavie

do not use coconut oil! infants are more susceptible to the sun's rays. its a very unsafe alternative because they dont get the protection they need. the best way to protect infant is to keep it away from direct sunlight.

Keep your baby in the shade and cover him up, he's only 4 months old
