I'm soooo irritated right now bc I feel like I just wasted my time.
So, I found an amazing babysitter(friend from HS) the only thing that I don't like is that she is charging me $10 an hour for watching my son. I got a job yesterday with the help of my friend at Molly Maids..she failed to tell me that we only get paid commission!! So working full time you only get paid $300 a week!! 😒 Hell noooo!! So let me remind you that I have a babysitter, she's charging me $10hr..that's $800 a week/biweekly! Wtf!? I can't do that...so I'm pissed bc I have to find another babysitter & I have to find another job bc I can't support myself & my son making $300 a week.

Maybe that's expensive for Texas, but where I live 10 is the minimum you pay for babysitting. Sorry you're dealing my with all that though.
we only applied for food stamps (personal choice) but you could probably do that, WIC, childcare help and maybe temporary cash assistance until you find a good job.
@heidi3581, right!? I would understand if my son or any child had special needs but if you only have one child you should only be charging $200 a week. I could've done $200 but that's not good enough. See you got paid very well for 2 children, that is reasonable.

no problem! we had to suck in our pride to do it. it's not easy admitting you need help. but I'm so thankful it's there to fill the gaps til we get more financially stable.
10 an hour is too much for one kid! I got paid that for watching twin 2 year olds lol. One kid like 8-9 maybe. Or a certain amount per day
@jaunty, seriously! Tbh I don't think she knows that she's asking that much. Nobody is going to pay that much for a baby sitter..ever.

totally understand. it sucks how much the cost of living has risen. we started by going to our nearest DHS office and talking to them on what we qualified for.
Damn man...I just don't want my name in the system like that bc I don't trust the government at all. But I know I'm going to have to do that bc I'm stuck in a bind. Tbh I don't know how all that works or how to get started. @_akgirl
I was about to say daycare would be cheaper. Lol. I'm gonna start watching my friends kids for 350/400 a week but her hours are long, so it's didn't sound bad, but that's just while I get a job, I suck at being home all day lol
