Ugh how do you deal when your mom is fully expecting to stay at your house(with her dog I may add) for a few days after the baby is born? Like am I wrong for not wanting her to stay here? She would have to stay in a hotel but I just want to be able to come home with the baby and my husband and enjoy it... My husband may only be able to take a few days off work anyway and I don't really want my mom here around the clock. Not to mention, our guest bedroom is a complete wreck so I will have to completely clean it in order for her to even have a place to sleep. Am I wrong for not wanting her to stay here? I already told her that I don't want the dog in the house....

i mean, the mom would probably be more help than anything because you'd be hurting but it's understandable. you have to be straight up with her and say that you want bonding time with your baby

i had to tell my mil that she wasn't welcome to stay at our house for the first 2 weeks our baby is born and im still dealing with that drama now

I mean I'm still completely fine with her coming over but just not being here 100% of the time. She originally told me that she would just get a hotel for a few days and then she could come over and help when I need her or just visit and now all of a sudden she's like expecting to stay here with her dog as well. @lotus

I would feel the same way. I just wanted time with my boyfriend and baby when he was born, so we didn't have anyone at the hospital or anything. I don't see anything wrong with wanting time alone with your new family

@jleightutt, that's great..... my mom showed up in my section room out of nowhere with my 1st son. I'm like only 1 person allowed. my husband. I work at the hospital and they all know mom so they let her in !!!!
