I did it. His cord wasn't cut for a few minutes, long enough to let him receive all his cord blood.

Its really good, bc baby is getting all the nutrients they need from the cord, very beneficial! I'll be doing it too!

I got a c section and they still did it

I put it in my birth plan and my hospital said they try to do it even if the mom doesn't specify!

I totally did it. My LO was so alert when he was born. He cried for just a few seconds then as soon as he was against my chest he was so content and just looking around staring at me for the next few hours. I was also able to do the cord blood donation with the delayed cord clamping. I'd do it again also. Why not let the baby get all the blood and antibiotics they need.

@jennatess my mom is very controlling I'm noticing she thinks because I came out of her that my daughter is hers as well😒 but yes, if all goes well they will hand you your baby and put the placenta on a towel after they take it out and hand you that as well❤ definitely speak to your doctor I had to make sure that was an option in case a Csection were to happen

I REALLY really wanted to when my daughter was born but she wasn't breathing when she came out so they had to quickly clamp and cut her cord to make sure she was okay :( but if I ever have another little one I will for sure 100% delay the clamping and cutting. :)

@hermommy, WAH! Why would she care so much? Rude. I have a similar question, do they allow this when you have a c/section? That may be a dumb question... I just wanted to do it with my second (when the time comes), but, I'm not allowed a vbac. I have to have another cesarian.

instead of the baby losing a portion of their blood it's returned to them boosting their immune system and also leaving that groggy nasty feeling alone. My pedi explained it like an adult giving blood after you do so you feel like crap until it regenerates sane with a baby

I'm doing it. It gets everything that the baby needs, to the baby, that's why it's there in the first place! It has things that are very helpful for baby to have
